Pope John
Paul II traveled widely, and catered to the Catholic faithful around the world;
in spite of an assassination attempt which symptoms continued to trouble him,
and the onset of Parkinson’s Disease.
And due to
the Pope’s significant maladies his aides would sometimes whisper in his ear,
“Holy
Father, you do too much.”
And these
concerned young aides continued to admonish him, again and again.
“Holy
Father, you do too much.”
After the 33rd
reminder (or was it the 44th) the ‘Holy See’ grew impatient, and
looking his assembled assistants in the eyes responded,
“Some things
have to be done…too much!”
