President Obama issued an edict today designed to toughen gun laws; especially in terms of mandatory background checks for gun show sales, and the hiring of more investigative officers. As he stood behind his literal and proverbial podium, the president wept; as he reminisced about the senseless deaths of 20 children and six staff persons at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

And to be sure, I, for one, have no issue whatsoever with the frustrated, “lame duck” president having issued a unilateral edict on gun control; when our so-called congress has refused to act. And to be sure, I mourn the deaths of the innocent progeny of America, as well as those of the hundreds of high school age students, and adults taken in incidents of mass gun violence each year in this country.

My “beef” with the president is his overt support of Planned Parenthood and the practice of abortion. Tears for the hundreds, while offering overt support for the sacrifice of millions is nothing less than hypocrisy.

While the deaths of hundreds of American children (and adults) taken by multiple homicide each year is regrettable, the loss of 1 ½ million unborn children who die as the result of abortion on an annual basis is reprehensible.
