I am just so
excited about the 2016 Presidential Election.
(Not)
I mean, we
have two of the most exciting people of all time running for the most prestigious
office in the land.
(Not)
After all,
very few questions are being expressed among the electorate about the
suitability of each of the nominees.
(Not)
And, of
course, both of the candidates are known far and wide as persons of honor, their
personal and business dealings have always been above reproach, and little or
no dispersion has been cast upon their characters.
(Not)
And it goes
without saying that each, in their characterization of the other, have always taken
the high road, and have avoided accusation and slander.
(Not)
The very
familiar female Democrat who bears the initials ‘HC’ and who, without
contradiction, may be one of the most qualified nominees in the 24 decades in
which this nation has existed. And for whom, if I lived 24 or 240 or 2400
decades, I could never cast my vote, primarily as the result of her support for
the homosexual agenda, and abortion on demand; both practices which fly in the
face of the admonitions of scripture.
Then, we
have the equally familiar male Republican who bears the initials ‘DT’ and who,
(almost) without contradiction, may be one of the least qualified nominees in
the 24 decades in which this nation has existed; having never held public
office of any kind. And for whom I can barely imagine casting my humble ballot.
One who exudes the demeanor of a second Messiah, and has, interestingly enough,
garnered the evangelical vote, (though he claims he wasn’t aware he needed
God’s forgiveness for anything), who has consistently spewed hate speech towards
women, (and in one instance, a disabled person), who seems altogether unfamiliar
with world affairs, but ‘til now admonished us to trust him, (while offering no
plans by which he will accomplish the nation’s agenda), who has threatened the
use of nuclear weapons, who has heaped praise on the leader of Russia, who has
routinely out-sourced the manufacture of goods, who has failed to pay
contractors for work completed, and who has been luke-warmly received, (if at
all) by congressional members of his own party.
There have
been some who have encouraged me to vote for a third party candidate, (or to
write in my own name). But contrary to anything they might believe, I know a
vote for a third party is as much as waste of my vote, as if I cast it for a
lady with the initials ‘HC’ or a man with the initials ‘DT’. Third party
candidates preach an admirable line, but when it is all said and done they will
garner single digit results, and their names will hardly merit an asterisk in
the history books.
Options?
We have two.
(And we have
none)
Yes, I am
just so excited about the 2016 Presidential Election.
