A FOLLOW UP TO: DAD MADE US PROMISE...

*I received the following response to an email I sent to the agency which produced the "Dad made us promise" commercial. (See blog by this title). I found it interesting, but not completely satisfactory.

Good evening William;

Thank you for sharing your feelings about our TV commercial. It’s easy to see, based on your comments, how seriously you take your role as caregiver to your loved one. I respect your opinion about our TV advertisement and sympathize with the burden children carry as they seek the best care for their parents. As you might imagine, we help people in your situation every day. I have also walked this journey several times with loved ones.

To that point, we agree that there’s a range of options for care of a loved one beyond home health care. Although home health care is our business, we help families find the right fit when it’s clear a different setting would be better for them. Which brings us back to the TV commercial and your comment.

This advertisement tells the actual story of a BrightStar Care client and her family. Actors portray them, but the story is true, including the expressed desire to “keep Mom at home.” This made a great story for advertising, but your comments make us stop and think.

I have shared your comments with our Marketing Team and assure you we will keep them in mind going forward.

No decision on how to best care for a loved one is ever ideal.

Thank you, again, for your input.

Have a good evening

Joe
