Last night I dreamed one of the most complicated dreams I've ever dreamed which included a myriad of scenes. As an example, I found myself walking into a clothing store, and there were various wool sweaters with the most complex patterns and colors.
And it occurs to me that life is very much like a complicated, colorful multi-scened dream. In scripture we read,
"But this life... is passing away, but he who does the will of God endures forever." (1st John 2:17)
Life is, indeed, like a dream. It is here today and gone tomorrow. And though it can seem to be a permanent fixture, it is passing away.
That will still lies ahead of us is eternal. It is imperative that we make good choices here while there is time to do so. And based on my own experience and more importantly the Word of God, the most important and enduring choice we can make is our response to Christ' invitation to accept Him as our Lord and Savior; something I, myself, chose to do over half a century ago.
Life is short and reminescent of a dream.
Heaven and all its glory lies just across the threshold.
