HIT BY LIGHTNING 4X AND STAYED DEAD

Major Walter Summerford

Served with the British Army B.E.F. during WW1 of 1914-18. Somewhere in France he was struck by lightning in his lower body while on his horse, he survived the attack but was forced to retire from the military. He moved to Vancouver BC in 1920. Then in 1924 he was under a tree fishing in a river where a bolt of lightning hit the tree he was under. Once again he survived that attack but was in a hospital for several years, then in 1930 he was once again struck while walking in a park, this time he was paralyzed for life and later died in 1932. But mother nature was finished with him yet, it seems that in 1936 a bolt of lightning hit Major Summerford's grave marker destroying it.
