Speak American

We haven’t heard from Sarah Palin, the former vice-presidential candidate, for awhile.

(Sadly, I regret to say she is a distant cousin of mine).

I saw a little video segment today in which Sarah P. speaks to Jeb Bush’s ability to speak Spanish, and his interaction with his Hispanic campaign followers.

“They need to understand that they need to be here legally, or they’re outta here. And they need to

… speak American.”

Well, as deplorable as I feel it is to break our laws, cross the Rio Grande and remain here in an illegal status, it is absolutely impossible to think or to cause to happen the deportation of 12 million illegal immigrants.

And what is this “speak American” stuff all about, cousin Sarah? I mean, I know we won the American Revolution, and “sent the British packing,” but the last I heard the proper term for the language most Americans speak

… is English.
