Obama’s speech
is far too long for me to attempt a blow by blow to his perspectives, (and very
few people would care if I did). As it is, I will count myself fortunate if 5
people read this particular response.
However, I will
attempt to answer two points among the rest:
*While I do not
believe that the incumbent president is a closet Muslim, I believe he has
cow-towed, and hem-hauled, and made excuses, and apologized about, towards, and
for Radical Islam, (and/or Islam in general) since he has been in office;
though he avoids combining the R (Radical) word and the I (Islam) word, as if
it were a sacrilege to do so. He also avoids using the word, “terrorism” at
every opportunity, as if subtracting the term from his vocabulary will cause it
go away. Rather like the infamous fable, “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”
*Secondly, the
president’s notion that the 65 nation coalition will defeat the “Islamic State”
in the manner the battle is currently being fought is nothing short of
ludicrous. It simply isn’t going to happen. Each and every one of those 65
countries are fighting “with their hands behind their backs.” There has been no
real intent to defeat ISIS. Everyone, and I mean everyone who is anyone will
tell you an air war against an entrenched army will never get the job done;
especially since the majority of the bad boys occupy the cities of Iraq and
Syria.
I have written
about this particular issue in the past, but suffice it to say that it is
nothing less than shameful that the so-called Iraqi Army “turns tail and runs”
every time ISIS fighters get within 10 miles; leaving millions of dollars of
American equipment behind. What is nothing less than startling is the sheer
differential in numbers between the warring parties.
The Iraqi Army has
(hold onto your seat belts) a grand total of 2.8 million active duty and reserve troops, whereas, it is widely
understood that ISIS is represented by no more than 30,000, at most.
I mean, what’s
wrong with this picture?
The Iraqi Army,
“all by its lonesome” has the wherewithal to walk all over ISIS in Iraq and
Syria. It has the innate wherewithal to march them into the proverbial (and
literal) dust; if they only chose to do so.
It is time for
western nations to step back, and challenge the nations of the Mideast to get
off their duffs, and do something about the threat to their own borders; since
there may come a day when these black-masked thugs and vagabonds will grow
stronger, and ultimately march on every country in the region.
It would be
nothing for Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and the other Arab governments
of the Mideast to raise up a massive army, and do what ‘til now they have
neglected to do.
Literally
thousands of gallons of American, British and Australian blood have been
spilled in that region. Trillions of dollars have been squandered there. And
yet, we see a gradual re-introduction of our armed forces into the region;
including air assets, and our so-called “advisors” on the ground.
In spite of
Obama’s promise to the contrary, one of our brave servicemen recently lost his
life in a rescue mission in Syria, and no doubt, over time, more of our troops
will be doing what they do best
… in the middle
of the desert.
