MARRIAGE IS NOT 50/50. MARRIAGE MUST BE 100/100.
At the same time COMPROMISE may be a combination of two different fractions.
An engaged couple is deciding where to go on their honeymoon. The bride wants to go to Hawaii. The groom wants to go to Alaska. They just can't agree. If compromise in this case was 50/50, they would probably end up somewhere in between, in the Pacific, in a rowboat. Sometimes we absolutely agree. Sometimes we absolutely don't. There are times when one party has to acquiesce. (As it turned out, the couple went to Hawaii on their honeymoon, and went to Alaska on their 5th anniversary)
