It can be very difficult
to lose those whom you have loved, and in whom you invested trust. Jesus had
these same experiences and knew these same emotions. There was a time when some
of His outer circle walked away from Him, and I think it was in this experience
that we have the most poignant display of Christ' humanity.
For it was then that He looked at the Twelve, and questioned, "Will you also go away?" Such a heart-rending example of the emotions which overwhelmed Him at this moment, and which allows Him to identify with believers everywhere and at all times.
