You Were a Mess

I was thinking about one particular individual tonight who exhibits one particular recurring behavior pattern which causes him or her to be absolutely dysfunctional; and everyone seems to know it, except him or her themselves.

And it occurs to me that one day that individual will pass from this earth, and cross that heavenly divide, and God may say to that person, 

“You know while you lived on the planet which I created you … were a mess. And everyone seemed to know it, but you, yourself.”

God help us that you and I, and all the rest of us may examine our thoughts, attitudes, words and behavior patterns so that we fulfill God’s plan on the earth, and do the most good for the most people while we have the most time remaining to us.

Amen.
