David Jeremiah told the story of a minister who was preaching a sermon when suddenly a young man entered the lobby and walked into the sanctuary. He was pretty shabby looking with long hair and bedraggled clothes.
He began to look for a place to sit, but every pew was filled to overflowing. Without any other option, he lowered himself onto the carpet of the main aisle. Of course, the pastor was all too aware of this development, but continued to preach.
Now, one of the deacons got up from his seat, and headed towards the young fella. The pastor momentarily stopped speaking, and the entire congregation watched as the deacon drew closer to the homeless man. It seemed apparent that he was about to challenge his presence in the main aisle.
Now, the deacon stood next to the interloper and... sat down beside him! With this, the pastor with tears in his eyes said, "What you have just witnessed speaks louder than any sermon I will ever preach!"
